Description

In this episode we're sharing 3 tips to help you manage the holidays without leaving your family get togethers completely exhausted.

1. Stop thinking anyone has changed. You've been working hard on you and your goals and mindset...but that doesn't mean anyone else has. Adjust your expectations and keep yourself in mind. Adjust your attitude and acceptance of others and give up the notion that you matter more than they do.

2. Set boundaries. Have an exit strategy in place, know when it's time to leave the room, the conversation, the get together itself. Don't stay in a space that is challenging your mental health. You don't have to be a part of every conversation so removing yourself from the drama is a great strategy to better enjoy the family time. And if you drink, this would be the ideal time to keep the drinks to a minimum as we know that alcohol lowers are ability to manage our emotions and thoughts.

3. Lose Control. Release the idea that you can control the narrative. Again, people are who they are. You don't owe them an explanation for your choices, but they also don't owe you either. Not everyone is going to understand or support you, so you have to be able to let go of the idea that everyone is in your corner all the time. Stay focused and practice your gratitude and stay grounded in the  good.
