Historically homes have been MALE-CENTERED, but today in the AFRICAN AMERICAN community many homes are CHILD-CENTERIC, or female led by default. Special guest, co-host, ASHLEY JOHNSON-ALFORD recently asked the question is better to have a CHILD-CENTERED home or MALE-CENTERED home with respects to raising children? We invite special guests, Conscious Motherhood Coach, MARILYN ODUENYI, as well as, WILLIAM HOUSE, a couples' counselor in his church with a MALE-CENTERED home to dialogue about this dynamic. People often praise the traditional MALE-CENTERED home, but does that type of home recognize the autonomy of children in a manner that is beneficial to the child well into adulthood?  Are both sons and daughters affirmed enough inside of a MALE-CENTERED home? What issues typically arise from CHILD-CENTERED or FEMALE-CENTERED homes?  Is it simply parental preference or does a particular focus inside the home typically prove to have better long term outcomes for children?
