Description

The Song of Solomon is more than a love song or sonnet, it rises higher than the appropriate morals for a marital relationship. As a book that is part of the greater whole of the Bible, it tells the story of redemption. Like every other part of the Bible, it speaks to the transcendent topic of the fruit of salvation, and the dangers of courting worldliness and sinful desires. Solomon is one of the most confusing people in the Bible, as he was given a great amount of wisdom and never rose in obedience to God in accord with the wisdom he received. In the Song of Solomon, when it is rightly understood rise to the occasion of transparency and lets his readers see the emptiness and futility of outward appearance and activity without the inner life to accompany it. Every born again Christian listening and rightly understand the Song of Solomon should take to heart the warnings therein. The hearers should note the superficiality of the King, the weakness and strength of the Shulamite, and the purity and unselfish jealousy of the shepherd lover.

It is a good listen for anyone that wants to understand godly love, unselfish devotion, and moral purity that arises out of a redeemed soul. One of the most misunderstood books of the Bible carries within its pages the clarity, wisdom, and panoramic view as every other part of God's holy and inspired Word. Therefore, the reader or listener should prepare his or her heart for the Word that is powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, it discerns both the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Such a person will always be lifted to a higher place upon reading God's word or listening to His message.  May you be so blessed by this episode as you venture into the Holy Scriptures.
