A disciple or follower of Jesus Christ can be misunderstood very easily. Many in the world do not think Biblically when they think about what it means to be a Christian. Jesus said broad is the way that leads to destruction and many there be that go in that way. The way that leads to destruction is the way of deception. Many are deceived into believing that to be a Christian is to be a good person, or be born to Christian parents, or to be baptized, of believing certain teachings as if those things were sufficient in themselves. Joe discusses in this episode the magnitude of thinking through the teachings of Christ and upon the exercise of faith in what Jesus taught, as over and against false teachers, men are saved. The end result of saving faith is that the person who believes begins to act the way that Jesus did. Saving faith always transforms the believer into a holier and more obedient person. Perfection is never obtained in this present life but the right direction is. In THE ART OF DISCIPLESHIP, the attitude of the believer is examined, in some measure, so that the listener can begin to see the difference between the false and the true.
