In this episode, we will consider together the night that Jesus was betrayed and what is referred to as His High Priestly prayer. In this prayer of Jesus, He discloses the glory He shared with God the Father. We will learn the meaning of eternal life and how people receive it.
Furthermore, Jesus, as Son of God and ordained Messiah, declared to the Father the distinct way that His people relate to God. We will look at the word holy and how it means that God's people are separate from the rest of the world. The distinct people of God can also be observed in the Old Testament through the nation of Israel. Two references are sited and explained in Exodus and Deuteronomy.
We will further examine what it means to be united to Christ, those of us who are given eternal life. Unity is a primary component part of eternal life. The person who possess the life of God is brought into fellowship with Him and will be eternally in union with Him.
We will then consider together how the separate component part of the glory, holiness, unity, and union work together both in time and eternity within the believer. Does the unity of believers in our present age accurately reflect the glory of God and the salvation of all believers?
Lastly, we will consider the most significant expression of God's love. The Father expressed His love for the Son, the Son expressed His love for the Father, and placed in the middle of them both is God's prized position, His people. It is these people that the Father desired to give to His Son as a bride.
