When we think of the word "Stepmom' so often we think of how movies have depicted this role: the woman who comes in, takes away attention, sets rules and makes a chaotic situation within a household. BUT, what about the feelings of a stepmother? Her dreams vs the reality. The expectations of making not only. her partner happy but also children? Who does she go to talk to about her feelings, without the sense of guilt and the response of "you know what you were getting into/you know what you signed up for". As women we are so often too hard on ourselves to make sure that perfection is achieved, without taking a step back and remembering: enjoy the imperfect moments, remember to take care of yourself too, and the biggest advice: TALK.
