(Trigger Warning: this episode contains conversation and discussion of sexual assault & sexual assault of a minor)
Every 68 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted. And every 9 minutes, that victim is a child (RAINN statistics www.rainn.org). These are current statistics for 2024. A lot has changed! With victims, witnesses, families, and more. But what about the statistics in the 80’s when conversations weren’t being taken seriously, children weren’t believed, and what did the justice system look like during this time with victims and families? I sit down with Kelly Wallace. She is a SA victim and survivor by her paternal grandfather. She was asked to testify against him at the age of 8 in the 80s in front of her perpetrator as a child in a court room. With family coverups, alibi’s, and a trial we discuss this case like you’ve never expected!
