The bus speeds towards the gap, not quite reaching 88 miles per hour but getting almost up to 70. Everyone is terrified, as well they should be for this piece of impossible physics. Jack hurtles himself onto Annie to protect her as the bus takes what can only be described as an ET-aided leap over the gap in the freeway. Not only does it make it across the gap, it somehow manages to land on all four wheels. Terry exalts in jubilation and shares what we all must be thinking at this point.
