The Squares are headed to the Great White North for this next episode!
We're interviewing comic book creator Nicholas Friesen about his multimedia project "Olivia Sea"! With this project, Nicholas is mixing music, animation, and comics to create an immersive storytelling experience.
We talk to Nicholas about "Olivia Sea" as well cassette tapes, the Simpsons, Kim Deal, Amazing Spider-Man, and creating an animated band. We even get into marketing comics and what it's like attending comic conventions as a creator.
Here's the official description for "Olivia Sea" issues 1 and 2:
"The first issue in a three-issue miniseries, Crush-O-Rama Part One: Shimmer Like a Girl, finds Olivia Sea’s dance studio torn down for “progress,” so she and her friends take it upon themselves to get revenge. Will she make it to band practice on time?"
In issue 2, Olivia tries to find a work/life/band/dance/vigilante balance, Kitty goes dark, Sadie worries, and we meet 4-trak the robot. Oh, and there’s a concert. How does that work in a comic?"
