December 8th 2004. Concert attendees heard multiple loud bangs. A guitar emitted shrieking feedback that seemed to linger forever as the bands guitarist collapsed on stage. 25-year-old Nathan Gale, a deranged fan, had stormed the stage and fatally shot Damageplans’ lead guitarist Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott. Navigating through gunfire, chaos ensued as fans rushed onstage to shelter Dimebag, while three others were killed and a drum tech was taken hostage.
