Description

In this episode, Hao Yang reads a poem he wrote back in 2021 that first came to him through the image of a tug of war between the mother and the baby, with the umbilical cord between them. He also reflects on the real-life incidents and conversations that have contributed to the creation of the poem. For many queer children, their relationship with their parents are complicated by feelings of love and resentment, duty and betrayal, guilt and disappointment, and so they turn to their chosen families instead, since they offer unconditional love and total acceptance.

To anyone who may relate, know you aren't alone.

And, to mummy, thank you, after all.
