As Jesus walked up to Jerusalem to begin the sacred events of the Passion Week, He told His disciples that they "will mock him, spit on him, flog him and kill him” in what they believed would be the end to Jesus’ threat to their religious rule. What we find is even in their envy of Jesus, the purposes of God are still fulfilled to the letter.
