Born in Montgomery.  Educated in Tuscaloosa. Employed in Birmingham. TK Thorne has lived the civil rights era in Alabama. After a distinguished career with the Birmingham Police Department, she retired as a captain and assumed the Executive Director position with City Action Partnership in Birmingham. More recently, TK has also become a prolific author. TK has authored several books, including the 2021 published Behind the Magic Curtain, which is an in-depth examination of white allies during Birmingham’s civil rights years. Amazing stories.
