Description

Teresa Badillo is the mother of 7 children, including Marco, now 30. Since he was diagnosed at age 3, she has been an in depth researcher about all things related to autism. This recording was one of the first in the Autism Detectives podcast, and was recorded in 2019. Teresa shares with us what it was like learning about autism in the 1990s, before Google and an Internet. She goes through the many therapies she tried, what worked, and what didn't. Teresa and her family now live in Canada, and Marco is thriving in an adult program. Teresa was one of the charter members of Developmental Delay Resources (DDR), and served as President and a Board member for many years. She moved over to Epidemic Answers when the two non profits merged in 2013. Be sure and listen to Teresa's other Autism Detectives interview about how her son's autism was probably a result of arsenic poisoning, and how he benefited from lithium. www.EpidemicAnswers.org
