I'm a big proponent of flexible dieting and If It Fits Your Macros (IIFYM). But one area where people get it wrong with flexible dieting is saying that the foods don't matter, all that matters is that you hit your calorie and macro targets for the day and you'll see results. While that's (mostly) true, you shouldn't aim to fit as much shit into your diet as possible, nor should you make your dieting harder than it needs to be. The former can put your health at risk and the latter is unnecessary.
In this Minisode, I explain how to avoid these mistakes and WHY you should eat certain foods when you're bulking vs when you're cutting. Plus, I add some specific examples. Eating fewer calories than normal or eating more calories than normal are both difficult, but with strategic food choices, reaching your goals will be twice as likely. And lastly, if you don't know whether you should cut or bulk, I make sure to cover that as well. Give it a listen, and I hope it helps.
