As a Registered Dietitian, I have a pretty deep understanding of the various roles food plays in our lives. While I think the majority of these roles are positive, there are also some people who feel trapped by food. No matter what they do, they can't seem to get over the psychological warfare that comes along with it. Binge eating, in particular, is one of the most devastating and it shouldn't be taken lightly. For some, they just struggle with overeating and it's hard to stop once they get started. This is fairly common. For others, it's an actual Binge Eating Disorder (BED), which is much more serious. In this Minisode, I go over ways to handle both and what you can do to begin the journey to finally stop binge eating for good.
Question asked: "Hi, have a question regarding binge eating. To maintain my current weight or to lose some (I’m 56kg, 163cm) my calorie intake should be relatively (at least I think so) low at 1560-1600. Time-to-time I find myself eating all day and can not stop. Is it mental or it is really too few calories?"
