There seems to be a huge push by some fitness influencers and coaches to avoid using a bodyweight scale. Essentially, they claim it does more harm than good. While I think there could be truth to that for certain individuals, the majority of people who have issues with the scale simply don't understand the fluctuations and how to use it effectively. In this Minisode, I try to shed some light on why a scale used appropriately is one of the best tools for losing fat and gaining muscle.
I cover a lot in this one, including:
-What the science says about weighing yourself regularly
-Why AVOIDING the scale is actually exacerbating your negative relationship with it
-What causes daily weight fluctuations (and why)
-How I effectively use the scale with myself and with clients to lose fat and gain muscle
-The appropriate rate of weight loss or weight gain based on your goals
-Other tools for tracking progress besides the scale
