Under ideal circumstances, we would love to follow a periodized workout plan that was intelligently and methodically put together to maximize our gainz. The problem, however, is that "real life" gets in the way of "ideal circumstances" more often than not. This results in more workouts skipped and decreased motivation to get in the gym again—if we can't be perfect, why bother?
I've had this thought process too many times, but it's short-sighted and leads to even more frustration. Instead, we should aim for "good enough" workouts when life isn't under "ideal circumstances."
