This episode was speaking with Dr. Michael Keyes, M.D., a plastic surgeon based in Miami who the host knew from earlier years but recently reconnected after pursuing different career paths. Dr. Keyes discussed his experiences growing up from a multi-ethnic background as the son of a Black father and Japanese mother as well as: his early years in Japan, navigating his father working abroad, and his relentless pursuit of higher education that ultimately led him to medical school. Michael touched on his experiences through residency and all of the challenges that come from that trying time that all medical doctors go through and the need for mental health services given the amount of training and study that goes into it. At this point, being a licensed plastic surgeon and pursuing his own path creating platforms for his medical practice and raising awareness through Celebrity Plastics and pushing his career forward to new heights, Dr. Keyes is demonstrating that it does not matter where you start in life or whatever difficulties you might endure but being dedicated to the future you want to create makes it possible for people like him to thrive regardless of the circumstances.
