This episode was speaking with both Isaiah, a Black male who is both a mental health advocate and someone on his own therapeutic journey and Travis, a Black mental health therapist who has journeyed in various settings of clinical practice in both rural and urban Georgia. The discussion covered a variety of topics including: vulnerability for men, family dynamics and environments, impact to the Black community following Summer 2020 (post-George Floyd), as well as representation in the field for Black male therapists are all discussed in length as visibility for this demographic is paramount for both potential clients and therapists alike. This was the first paneled episode as it is important to not only hear from clinical providers but also from those that are clients and can speak to their experience that will hopefully encourage others to begin their mental health healing process.
