Listen

Description

This episode was speaking with Luis, a Latino male therapist discussing his journey from working in community mental health agencies, behavioral institutions with male youth, and ultimately to beginning his own private practice. The discussion was largely focused on men's mental health, parenting, challenges for quality services for Black and Latino communities, as well as the challenge of encouraging more men to seek out therapy when there is a small number of male providers in the country. Being a male therapist is also discussed in length as visibility for these communities of color are paramount for both potential clients and therapists alike.
