This episode was speaking with Kashif (Chief), a Black, male therapist to discuss the his journey navigating various parts of his identity as a Gay man and dealing with challenges being raised in a religious household by grandparents of a different generation and the assumptions that may be made because of that time difference. Chief also shared much about his lived experiences with homelessness, not feeling accepted by his church and cultural community, career difficulties and alcohol use, and ultimately what drove him to the mental health field in order to help others deal with their own personal mental and emotional issues and learn to grow beyond them.
