Jimmy Gale has worked in the field of HIV Prevention and Care for nearly 15 years, following his own diagnosis. He now leads discussions on health equity, social justice and stigma reduction and the impacts they have on our fight to end HIV. A SF Bay Area native by birth, he has proudly called New Orleans his home for nearly 4 years. In the Bay, he was well known for his Drag persona and community mobilizing, but packed the wigs away when he moved to New Orleans… except for special occasions.
Jimmy is one of three Grand Marshals for this years Southern Decadence Parade, along with Nicole DuBois and Monica Synclaire-Kennedy. He is heavily involved with the leather and fetish community, serving on the board for the CrescentCity Leathermen, and bring sex positivity and sexual health education to the LGBTQ+ Community. Jimmy can be found slinging drinks behind the bar at the historic New Orleans Phoenix, the crescent city's only Leather/Bear/Fetish Bar, which recently celebrated 40 years.
