DeJuan Marrero had the privilege to connect with Mayor Karen Freeman Wilson. She is the first female African American mayor in the state of Indiana and the first female mayor of Gary, Indiana. We discussed her upbringing in Gary, politics, and being friends with President Obama. She is born and raised in Gary, Indiana and is a graduate of Harvard Law School. She is an American attorney, former judge, and former Indiana Attorney General.
