Description

In 1 Chronicles 13 & 14, we see David clearly has a heart after God and brings the nation into a place of revival before the Lord. He wants to bring the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem and restore proper worship of God to the nation. He has the right intentions and the right motives and even wisely seeks counsel. David wanted to lead his people to draw close to God and experience His love, forgiveness, and provision personally. Big problems rose up when they failed to heed God's direction on who should be moving the ark and how it should be done. He had the right intentions, but took God's instructions lightly rather than reverently and a man lost his life as a result. This awoke a greater seriousness and reverence towards God and who He is in David. We should never take for granted who God is or His sovereignty. His presence is a blessing in our lives and we should greatly fear anything that could sneak in and try to separate us from His amazing presence. We should seek to honor and glorify Him in all we do and say and let Him lead and guide us through every step of life.
