In 1 Chronicles 25 & 26, the duties for the musicians and gatekeepers are outlined. All roles and duties are given by God and all gifts and talents He pours out are meant to glorify Him and His eternal Kingdom. In David's reign, music was brought into worship of our Lord. David was a gifted musician and he invented instruments to be used to glorify and worship God. Through these men gifted in music came the book of Psalm. The gatekeepers were vital to the needs of God's community and God gave them gifts and talents to be used to direct His people directly to Him. Obed-edom had the Ark of the Covenant and God's presence in his home for 3 months. Being in the presence of God brought great blessing to his family. When we make intentional time with God, use the lives He's given us to glorify Him, and honor Him in all we do and say, He will honor our faithfulness to Him. His presence in our lives brings blessings to be used to further His glory and His Kingdom even more. He wants us to know Him and experience Him personally and intimately now and for all eternity.
