In 1 Chronicles 5, we continue walking through the lineage that continues to point us to the loving, compassionate kindness of God and His mighty plan of redemption for all of us. Reuben, Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh settled east of the Jordan River. Reuben fell into sin and lost his right to the firstborn birthright but God did not change His mind or plan for Reuben. He faced earthly consequences for his sin but he repented and still chose to trust in God. God's promise and blessing for his life remained and in his repentance, God was able to pour out those promised blessings. We sin. We blow it. But we repent, get back up, and keep running faithfully with God. Don't get stuck there. God has one big plan with many players. God always rewards faithfulness. God's love never ends for any one of us and even if we mess up from time to time, He will honor those who consistently follow Him - even if we do blow it and find ourselves, yet again, smack in the face of repentance. The important thing is to repent. God honors integrity. Even if we blow it, we don't walk away from God. We get back up and keep going. He doesn't want to lose a single soul and if we are going to spread the Good News of the saving power of Christ, we need to keep moving forward for His glory and His Kingdom.
