In 1 Chronicles 9, an account is given to those who would be returning from exile to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple and restore worship to God. The faithful remnant are counted. Among the first counted are the priests, Levites, and Temple servants. Judah ended up in exile because they rebelled against God so as they return to start over as a faithful nation, restoring the Temple and the worship of God is vital. It was important to have the Temple restored so people could be led, directed, and pointed to God. God gives each of us gifts and talents that He gave us for the specific use to glorify Him and point people to Jesus. There is a bigger picture in life - God's plan. God desires His Kingdom full and not to lose a single soul. We are to all embrace what God has poured into our lives and use it all for His Kingdom and His glory. We are called and commissioned to love God and love people by working together in unity for the advancement of His mighty eternal Kingdom.
