In 2 Chronicles 27 & 28, Uzziah's son Jotham becomes the next king. He learned from his father's mistakes and followed the ways of the Lord. His son Ahaz, however, took over after him and there are few men in the Bible mentioned who were as strongly against God as Ahaz was. The nation deteriorated greatly under his leadership. Through all of the struggles and wars the nation faced, he still stubbornly refused to turn to the Lord. The state of faith for the nation was as bad as it could get. But - his son would turn it all around by choosing God. We can choose God and humbly submit to Him and trust Him to our core and watch what He does through our lives. He wants a sincere and honest relationship with us. He wants us to trust Him - trust His love - trust His faithfulness. He desires us to know Him and it takes one person making that choice to change things in our families and communities - for the better. God's glory is brighter than any evil and His will is coming forth - we can trust Him with all our guts.
