In 2 Kings Chapters 21 & 22, we are now left with the southern tribes which include Judah and Benjamin and some Levites that work in the Temples. The 10 tribes to the north have been wiped out by Assyria. Manasseh takes over rule of Judah and ends up getting the prize for the most evil king yet. Eventually Josiah takes over and we once again have a good king in our midst. They found the Book of the Law in the Temple while they were cleaning it! King Josiah is so distressed when he reads the law that he humbly repents for all they've been doing wrong as kings, tears his clothes in despair and wept before God. God answers his cry through a prophetess. Josiah did a lot right. He heard God's Word, he humbly repented with all his heart, he wept before God, and his heart broke for the things that break God's. When we listen to God, sincerely and humbly repent, cry out to God, and ask God to break our hearts for what breaks His, He will answer - - every time.
