Description

In 2 Samuel 14, Joab arranges a plot to get David to allow his son Absalom to return. He had mourned the loss of his son for 3 years and Joab sets the wheels in motion for reconciliation. He has a woman from Tekoa tell a bold and wise story that gets David's attention David knows it's Joab's doing and concedes to letting Absalom come home but true reconciliation does not happen. Absalom has not repented. He lives by his own moral code and wants what he wants and goes to any means to get it. Reconciliation cannot happen without repentance. When we repent of our sins and turn to Jesus, we are immediately reconciled to God. God's desire above all else is for us to be reunited and reconciled fully to Him.
