Description

In 2 Samuel 17, Absalom receives advice from two separate men. One of the men is loyal to David but Absalom is so self focused, he cannot see that. He takes the counsel from David's friend. David is warned by his friends and all of his men make it to safety with him. None of them desert David along the way. They arrive at their destination of safety and are warmly greeted with friends, food for nourishment and replenishment, and rest. These friends were all people that David had previously shown kindness to. If we sow kindness into people around us, it will come back around - at just the perfect time. These men had a long hard journey through the wilderness and were met with much needed replenishment and rest. We need to make sure we are surrounded with people in our inner circles who see our needs in and out of our wildernesses - even before they are needs. We need to make sure the people in our inner circles chase after God with all their hearts so the wisdom and counsel they offer line up with God and His Word, His heart, and His direction. We need to know our Father's voice for ourselves and those around us.
