Description

In 2 Samuel 3, some of the cracks in David's character are shown and we see yet another murder happen out of selfish ambition, selfish motive, and selfish revenge when Joab murders Abner. David once again mourns the loss of innocent life. The Bible is very honest about its people. It is very honest about the fact that we all face temptation and sin and desperately need a Savior. We desperately need Jesus in each of our lives. We live a fallen, broken, sinful world and will face temptations. If we give in to temptations, we end up in sin. Sin always leads to death. When we choose to accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior of our life, we are given the Holy Spirit who then resides in us and gives us the power to run from temptation and resist sin. We don't have to choose sin. We can choose Jesus. We can choose life. We are given encouragement in the fact that God's mission moves through our messes and makes them beautiful when we repent and turn to Him. We are given a warning to not ignore any cracks that may show up in us and grow to our detriment. We should be quick to ask God to show us any ugliness in ourselves that needs to be dealt with and be quick to deal with it. We live in a world with real issues that God is working to redeem. God works in our messes and makes our messes His mission. God works in our weaknesses and make them His glory. God transforms, restores, redeems, and makes us new in Him. He is an amazing miracle working Father.
