In Acts 2, the Promise from God Himself that His Spirit would come from the heavens for us and within us became a very real reality. Jesus did just as He promised and His Spirit was sent for us. He is our Counselor. He is our guide. He keeps us on the path toward Jesus and gives us the Authority of Jesus to properly and effectively witness for Him, no matter what. It's all about Jesus and glorifying the Lord, it's not really about us at all. It's about proclaiming His great Name to the ends of the earth. We benefit, of course, because our Lord and Savior is good and kind and loving, but it's truly for the glory of the Lord. Peter's audience came to believe that Jesus is truly the Messiah, our Lord and King. They were convicted, and repented, and came to know Jesus very personally as His Spirit washed through them cleansing them of all sin and unrighteousness. We have the same opportunity today. It's up to us to choose to repent, bend the knew, and proclaim to Jesus you are His and want to be washed by His presence, now and for all eternity.
