Description

In Exodus 15, God's people have just been rescued from their oppressors in the most miraculous way. They did absolutely no fighting to win this freedom, God did everything. God's rescue is reflected in their song of heartfelt, honest expression as they sing praise to God for their deliverance out of oppression.  When we go out into the world, the song of the cross that delivers us from death's grip should be on our lips. We are redeemed, we are rescued, we are set free from sin.  God values us, God is invested in us, and Jesus paid a really heavy price for each one of us. We can trust Him. The Israelites travel a mere three days and start to forget the glory of God's amazing hand. They start grumbling and complaining about water. Grumbling is the very opposite of trust. God shows Moses a piece of wood and the wood thrown into the water turns it from bitter to drinkable water. This is just like what happens when we meet Jesus at the foot of the cross. We too lose our bitterness as Jesus pours His living water into us making us whole, fully restored - rescued, and brand new in Him.
