Description

In Exodus 24 & 25, God's people say "yes" to God and agree with His covenant. They desperately want to obey God. Their allegiance is in the right place but their confidence lies in themselves and their ability rather than God. It will falter time and time again. They need continuous altars after the laws in order to make it. Jesus gave us the ultimate and final altar when He died for us on the cross. His altar makes us righteous and cleanses us so we can run boldly to the throne of God and dwell with Him. God's purpose in creation has always been for Him to dwell with His people. He gives Moses instructions to build the Ark of the Covenant where God can dwell with His people as they travel through the wilderness. He gives Moses instructions to build a Table to hold the Bread of Presence. Jesus is the bread of life, God provides for us, and continuously invites us to dine with Him. He also gives plans for a Lampstand which is to be built as one united piece. God's heart is unity in His people and churches. The oil that keeps the lamp burning is like the Holy Spirit continually keeping the fire of God burning and alive within us and reflects the light of Jesus forward - out of us and straight forward to those around us.
