In Exodus 39 & 40, the clothing for the High Priest and his sons are completed and the Tabernacle is assembled exactly how God commanded it to be done. The incense altar is the closest table to the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle. The closest we can get to the Lord right now is through our prayers. He wants us to have time with Him in our lives and build that foundational, intimate relationship. God's presence fills the Tabernacle and His presence in the form of a cloud also leads and guides them in their journey ahead. Our lives are a journey and we can choose to let God lead in it. Moses is not able to enter the Tabernacle after God's presence fills it. There is still an issue of sin - the sin of idolatry - that hasn't been properly dealt with or atoned for in the Israelites. God is perfection and we are sin and the sin of Israel is affecting the covenant they have with God and needs to be atoned for. Jesus atoned for all of our sins when He died on the cross for us so we get to freely run to God today with no barriers. They didn't have Jesus' sacrifice quite yet, so their sin had to be atoned for another way. Leviticus will show us that way.
