In Ezekiel 27, God gives Ezekiel a funeral song - a song of coming destruction - for the nation of Tyre. Tyre was an extremely successful merchant nation and was the center of trade and prosperity for several nations around them. Tyre was admired and focused entirely on pride and wealth. God was not a part of the nation at all. Very quickly that pride is humbled and admiration turns to desolation as the Babylonian army comes and takes over the nation. No matter how rich and beautiful a nation or individual is, when God moves to humble the proud, nothing can stop His mighty hand. God blesses us and our lives when we remain humble before Him. When we give glory, praise, and honor to all that God pours out in our lives, He will honor that in us. Everything we have in life is from God, it is all God's to be used to expand His Kingdom. How we steward the resources He pours out for us makes all the difference in every way.
