Description

In Ezekiel 30, God reveals the destruction of Egypt to Ezekiel during the same timeframe in which it is happening. Ezekiel has no idea. The Babylonian army comes in and destroys Egypt in 605 BC and the Egyptians had twice the army. God's will prevails regardless of our army size. Egypt was a prideful, evil nation against God and was hurting God's people so they were held accountable for those choices by God. He speaks of the "day of the Lord" which speaks to the current situation for Egypt as well as the coming judgment day of Jesus when He returns. He says it will be a day of God's judgment for sin, a day of darkness, a day of doom for nations who have joined to war against and oppose God, a day of desolation, a day when idols and immorality are abundant and will be destroyed by God, and a day when the power of the enemy will be completely broken. God wins. Evil has already been defeated and will be taken out completely on the great day of the Lord. By the mercy and grace of God, those who choose Jesus will be gathered and held safe in the arms of God for all eternity. His desire is that we all choose Him, but He leaves it up to us.
