Description

In Isaiah 15-17, the oracles of judgment are spoken regarding Moab, Damascus, and northern Israel. God tells Moab that all their prosperity will be stripped away as well as a whole lot of hardship for a season. He again gives that glimmer of coming hope. It will not be forever. There is a Savior coming. He will rule with mercy and truth. In the judgment against Damascus and Israel, Isaiah lets them know not much will remain. Only a small remnant. He answers the question of why - because they have turned from the God who can save them. They have forgotten the Rock who can hide them. We once again are shown the glimmer of hope. There will be a few who stand firm in the faith. They will look to their Creator. They will turn their eyes to the Holy One. They will be saved and out of that remnant, our Messiah - Jesus will come. He will save us once and for all if we choose Him. God saw the horrors of where His children were headed and said - no, let it be Me. He has the power to do just that and actually did it - He let it be Him. He sent Jesus to die so we can choose life. We can stay eternally safe and be a part of the remnant if we choose to stand firm in faith. Jesus is returning. Look up and don't let go - cling to God with everything in us.
