In Isaiah 38 - 39, Hezekiah becomes terminally ill and he cries out to God and prays for mercy. God hears his prayer and saw his tears and answered him with 15 more years. Prayer works y'all! Hezekiah praises God and gives Him all the glory and honor in a heartfelt poem of praise. He is so excited, he ends up showing the Babylonians the back door to Jerusalem and everything Jerusalem has stored up, including their weapons. He got caught up in the moment of feeling free and safe and lost his head a bit. We are left with a warning that Babylon was coming as repentance still has not come from God's people. If we invite the enemy in, the enemy will march over us and steal, kill, and destroy. It's what he does. If we repent and cry out to God, He listens. He hears our cries and sees our tears. He moves and He acts on our behalf. He fights our battles, adds to our lives, and carries through anything and everything for all eternity.
