Description

In Isaiah 40, Isaiah brings a message from God of hope. The Babylonian exile is still about 100 years out and he speaks as though they have already been rescued, set free, restored, and redeemed. He gives a hope of a coming New Jerusalem. He foresees John the Baptist coming to prepare the way for our Messiah. He gives the key to hope which is trusting in the One and only God who carries us through the valleys and exiles and brings us to redemption and restoration. God wants to deliver His people. He sent us Jesus. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are free from sin and bondage. We have been rescued, set free, restored, and redeemed for all eternity. The key once you trust God is to continue to trust God. We can rely on Him for strength to get through the valleys, to continue to run for Him and not get weary, and to walk each step for His glory and not grow faint. Jesus is coming back and we can radically prepare the way for His return.
