In Jeremiah 20 & 21, the people of God are so disturbed by the truth of the Word of God that they whip Jeremiah and lock him in stocks. Jeremiah is able to speak to the angry mob boldly and confidently through the power and might of God. When alone with God, he is honest with God about his feelings and how hard the mission is. God never promised an easy mission but that He would be with Jeremiah every second of every step. God appreciates our honesty. The tables turn and as God's words of warning start to come true, the people of Jerusalem flock to Jeremiah asking for help. Just like the days of Noah, the people laughed and mocked until the rain came. We are more shocked by the justice of God than His forgiving mercies and blessings. He lets them know those who surrender will be saved. We get the same choice today. Surrender and let Jesus in and you will be saved.
