In Jeremiah 3 & 4, God shows Jeremiah the coming destruction of Jerusalem by Babylon. God pleas and cries out for His people to repent and turn to Him. They refuse and continue to chase after idols and worship false gods instead. Assyria had already conquered northern Israel and Judah still doesn't repent. They have false confidence that they are "safe" because they are in Jerusalem and the Temple is there. God looks at our hearts, not where we live or the religious actions we carry out. God desperately wants each of us to choose Him and pursue Him. He desperately wants us to experience His eternal Kingdom instead of eternal judgment but the choice is ours to make.
