In Jeremiah 5, God searches for even one honest and just person, but all have refused to repent. The people had become ungrateful, evil, wicked, and unfaithful to God. They had turned their backs on God and God was about to let them have the evil they desired and chased after so much. Judgment is coming. They were given warning after warning but rejected every Word of warning from God. They were told judgment was coming but they truly didn't care and remained stubbornly rebellious. God cries out "Why don't you tremble in My presence? I, the Lord, define the ocean's sandy shoreline as an everlasting boundary that the waters cannot cross. The waves may toss and roar, but they can never pass the boundaries I set." Rather than living in awe of God and who He is, the refuse and turn away. God ends the chapter with a very question: "But what will you do when the end comes?"
