In Jeremiah 6, God gives one more warning of coming judgment. He calls for repentance and a final chance to turn for sin, evil, and wickedness to God. The false confidence they hold thinking they are safe because they are in Jerusalem is about to face the harsh truth of the reality of God's judgment. God is patient and merciful but leaves it up to us to choose Him and chase after Him with all our guts. If we choose sin instead, He will let us have our sin and when judgment falls, it will be too late. God is holy and pure and just and cannot allow blatant sin to go unpunished or He would no longer be holy, pure, and just. We can choose Jesus as our Lord and Savior and be seen as righteous before God. The blood Jesus spilled on the cross and His resurrection cleanses us from our sins, makes us right with God, and assures us of an eternity in His Kingdom. We can choose Jesus and stand firm in faith. We can choose to be a part of the faithful remnant that does not waiver.
