In Jeremiah 8 & 9, God gives Jeremiah a message to warn the false prophets who are lying to God's people giving them confidence they are "fine" because they are in Jerusalem. Judgment was coming for sin and justice would be pouring out. They had the Scriptures but were not practicing the Scriptures or walking them out in their lives. It's about our hearts, not what we were on Sunday or how many small groups we attend. Jeremiah mourns over the sin and wickedness around him and we should too. What breaks God's heart should break ours. God delights in those who pursue a relationship with Him with all our guts. He desires all of us to chase Him. He desires all of us to receive His outpouring of blessings. It's up to us to choose. It's a matter of the heart.
