In Joel 1, a plague of locusts devastates the land. 4 stages of locusts come in each taking what the previous left behind until nothing is left. Rather than humbling themselves and repenting before God, His people merely grieve over their desperate situation. God wants us to grieve over our sins, repent, humble ourselves before Him, and trust Him with each and every one of our minutes while on earth. Joel means "the Lord is God" and the God is Lord and He can handle our circumstances. He's been in our tomorrows and we can trust Him through everything and anything we face. He pours out blessings in our lives and we shouldn't take a single one for granted. He is God and He should be first and foremost above anything and everything. Above all, He wants a sincere, honest, and intimate relationship with us.
