In Joel 2, Joel moves forward to the coming judgment of the Assyrian army that would invade Israel and Judah and would completely destroy Israel. He cries out to God's people to repent and turn to Him. To return to God. He reminds us God is merciful, compassionate, slow to anger, and filled with unfailing love. He desperately wants every person to call on the name of the Lord, repent, and humble our hearts before Him so we can receive His eternal forgiveness. He doesn't want to lose a single person and everyone who calls on Him with a sincere heart will receive His saving mercy and our lives will be changed for all eternity.
