Description

In Mark 4, Jesus and the disciples left the crowds and went into a boat on the Sea of Galilee. A fierce windstorm came up and their boat was filling with water. The disciples reacted in fear and accused Jesus of not caring for them. Jesus simply stood up, rebuked the wind, and told the sea, "Silence! Be still!" The storm immediately stopped. Storms are going to come this side of heaven, but when Jesus is in our boat with us, we have nothing to fear. He has all control and all authority. We can rest in Him trusting He knows every wave and gust and He has you. Reacting in fear is a lack of confidence in God. Fear is a God given emotion. When we give our fears to God and pray expectantly knowing He has the storm in His control, it increases our faith. Courage is fear drenched in prayer. Even the middle of a crisis, Jesus can calm the storm and bring peace. He can make hard things doable. He can bring joy in sadness. He will always provide for our needs, not our "greeds". He can bring peace that passes all understanding. Turn to Jesus in the midst of any storm that comes. He is with you and will carry you through if you are willing to trust in Him, with all your guts and every last exhale.
